This holiday season was magical. We enjoyed spending both Thanksgiving and Christmas at home for the first time this year. It was also our first time hosting family and friends in our new home. If I had to sum up all of 2019 in one word, it would be “Home”. I’ve never spent so much time at home before and I loved every minute! There is no place like home for the holidays. I can remember when I first looked at this house when it hit the market and I was already daydreaming of how I would decorate it for the holidays. The moment I walked in, I knew it would be the perfect Christmas and entertaining home. We worked hard remodeling it all summer and fall because we knew we wanted to host family for the holidays. We are so proud of all of the work that has been done on the home and are excited to begin new traditions. All that sweat was worth it!
This holiday was very busy with hosting. We hosted my in-laws for Thanksgiving and a few days later we had a wine tasting dinner with three other couples. For Christmas, we hosted my father and his girlfriend and a few days later, we hosted the annual Ferguson Family Christmas party for 30+ people.
Holiday Home Décor
For Christmas holiday décor, I went with a minimalistic cozy vibe from Pottery Barn. My color palette was neutral with whites, creams, dark greens, gold, metallics and mercury glass. Here’s a peak into our Christmas home décor and holiday tablescapes!
Holiday Tablescapes
I loved setting our dinning room table up for our various holiday dinners this season. I wanted something simple that could easily transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas. My go-to source for tablescapes and pretty much everything is Pottery Barn. I started with a white linen hemstitch table runner and added in an eclectic mix of mercury glass hurricane votives along with antique gold candlesticks. For the centerpiece, I added mercury glass pumpkins for Thanksgiving and for Christmas, I traded those out for mercury glass Christmas trees.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!
