We shot our Christmas card photos with Melissa Gilmore in Virginia Beach. She has done our family photos the past few years and we have loved working with her. I just love how she can make a chaotic night with a toddler and a dog off leash, look so peaceful and beautiful! It’s so great to look back on these photos year after year to see how much Blakely has grown. Here is a look at our family photos from 2019.
Styling for family photos can be a stressful process. I always start with my outfit first then build out the color pallet for the rest of the family. The outfits also help determine the location of the shoot based on the vibe. I found this rust colored dress and fell in love with it. I went with a floral print romper for my daughter and a neutral henley for my husband. I think it all came together great, especially with the location we selected. Although it can be stressful, family photos are definitely worth the investment and the memories last for forever!
